Yesterday, the fifth batch of national-level "Specialized, Innovative, Precise, and Unique" (SIPU) "Little Giant" enterprises was officially announced. Three more enterprises from our city were included. So far, 11 enterprises in the city have been awarded the national-level SIPU "Little Giant" status, far exceeding those of neighboring cities of the same type.

These three enterprises are: Hubei Tuoying New Materials Co., Ltd., Hubei Zhanpeng New Materials Co., Ltd., and Hubei Xinlan Tianbao New Materials Co., Ltd.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology stated that the SIPU "Little Giants" represent small and medium-sized enterprises with characteristics of "specialization, refinement, uniqueness, and novelty". They have advantages in research and development, products have markets, operations are profitable, and have potential for development. Through cultivation, they are expected to eventually become "giants" in their respective industries.

The participation in the evaluation is a competition. The shortlisted enterprises have demonstrated remarkable achievements. For instance, Hubei Tuoying New Materials Co., Ltd. invested a huge amount of funds, established a research team, and introduced advanced international fully automatic production lines. It took 7 years to develop functional films, non-woven fabric composite materials, and other materials. The products received certifications from Nielsen in the United States and Centrocot in Italy, becoming a national technology-based small and medium-sized enterprise, a high-tech enterprise, a Hubei Provincial Specialized and Unique "Little Giant", a Hubei Provincial "New Species" Enterprise - a Fabless Enterprise, and a Hubei Provincial Non-Woven Fabric Innovation Center establishment unit.

The breakthroughs in key points also stem from strong impetus. In recent years, our city has taken creating a national innovative county (city) as the main line, continuously improving the innovation system, building innovation platforms, and vigorously introducing and cultivating technical talents. The achievements in scientific and technological innovation have been remarkable. Currently, there are 130 high-tech enterprises and 264 technology-based small and medium-sized enterprises in the city. 13 enterprises have become provincial "Fabless" enterprises, and 1 enterprise has been included in the top 100 of provincial high-tech enterprises. The total social R&D investment reached 1.222 billion yuan, and the number of provincial-level innovation platforms increased to 84. Last year, the city achieved a high-tech industrial output value of over 49.8 billion yuan, an added value of over 13.1 billion yuan, a technology contract transaction amount of over 3 billion yuan, and successfully passed the national assessment and acceptance of innovative county (city), becoming one of the first 47 innovative counties (cities) in the country.
